A very inspiring commentary. I try to follow those identical guideposts and, as I do, I find that occasionally my mind will creatively wander. It’s usually because of something I’ve seen in my walks (even if they’re from the vantage point of a treadmill on a rainy day), a word or its context that triggers a quick association of other words or phrases, even a new sensory experience such as hearing a loon cry or tasting a raspberry jam and jalapeño salsa.

Once I process the new sensation, usually through writing, I return to where I left off, a refreshed set of eyes viewing the sense of the words before me or the scenery passing me as I stroll by.

"Solitude has become more of an indulgence to me than a sense of loneliness."

This is one of the greatest achievements.

Would be interesting to read about your journey to get there. Which milestones, concrete steps, etc. And how to handle the related boredom.

I loved this, Winston! We sound very similar - I like the solitude of early morning writing and find it inspirational. I also have trouble sticking to an exercise routine. Your wise words really resonated with me.

Thank you Rosy, I like your comment, at least I don’t feel so lonely being the guilty one. ;)

I think you may be right about writing and introspection. Before I put something down it has to be true. Living it requires effort. Good stuff.

It it not easy to practice what you preach. Often we tell others what to do or not to do but we ourselves do the opposite. We are so human.

It is through our sensory that we see our world and interpret our perceptions. If we have the courage to unleash our creative minds it can be surprising what we can write and produce. Sometimes even surprising ourselves. Keep wandering, keep inspiring. Thanks for the wonderful comment Thomas. I appreciate it.

I love the brevity and accuracy of this article. Key points told a thousand different ways brought together in an easy to understand on-point piece.

I'm a late night writer. When the thoughts of people around me are nestled calmly in their dreams of calamity. Finding the right time to write is more important than people think.

During the day I consume information and get ideas. Whether it's through video, blogs, or even television shows. I'm always looking for ways that connect ideas together and how I can bring attention to otherwise hidden insights.

Thank you for your comment Micheal. I write at night too if I am in the mood. Writing requires a certain mood and it’s hard to tell when the mood will come. The only way is to replicate the most ideal condition hoping for it to come. Some times I can stare at the sky with many things on my mind but ended up writing down nothing. It was still time well spent nonetheless. :)

I like to think of that mood as the door of perception slowly opening with its attendant gifts which I’ll need to unwrap.
