Part 3: Jewel of Singapore
An exclusive weekend series: If Singapore is a garden city, Changi would undoubtedly be the garden airport
Once simply catering to arriving and departing passengers, Singapore Changi Airport now offers much more than just air travel. Singapore Changi Airport is one of the world’s largest aviation hubs and often tops the list of best airports with its unrivalled passenger experiences.
If you are visiting the region, there is a high chance you would choose to stopover at Changi. Many airport terminals have taken on the concept of shopping malls in recent years - hoping to sell things to people who never knew they needed them before sending these people to where they need to be.
Singapore is bringing that concept to a whole new level by redeveloping its terminal with a new theme that it calls the “Jewel”. Unlike other airports pushing the boundaries with more space, better lounges, shorter queues, and friendlier staff. Singapore Changi Airport has gone into nature-themed experiences with artificial waterfalls in a man-made tropical paradise surrounded by botanical gems and natural greens. This is a concept of bringing the outdoor into the indoor.
If Singapore is a garden city, Changi would undoubtedly be the garden airport.
In this episode, I will share another iconic garden in green-obsessed Singapore. A garden that every tourist arriving via our airport will come to visit and be in awe.
