Being on the Verge of Giving Up Is an Incredible Opportunity to Breakthrough
Have the courage to turn back and look behind, you will realise you are not alone.
As writers, we try hard to make progress. We kept up with the consistency, kept up with the hard work, and kept up with a positive attitude. We lift ourselves every time we are down, yet regardless of how high we lift ourselves, we will fall right back to the bottom of the valley the very next moment.
Nothing is more discouraging than feeling like you are not progressing despite your best efforts. You get caught up in a cycle of self-doubt, frustration, and disappointment, especially when you’ve worked hard on it for an extended period.
You are on the verge of giving up, and it is a miserable time. It's a feeling of exhaustion and helplessness that can make you question whether all the time and effort you've invested in your craft has been worth it. You feel like you are not good enough, that your writing is uninspired, and that you will never be able to produce anything of value.
Disappointment is now your frequent companion, and feeling helpless and hopeless has taken centre stage in your everyday life. It is like everything that is happening is leading you into a deep sense of sadness and hopelessness. There are dark clouds ahead, and you have started to doubt yourself, your abilities, and your decisions, making it even harder to find the motivation to keep going.
Self-pity is a new norm, and it has become a significant challenge. It's easy to start feeling sorry for yourself when things aren't going as planned, and you have begun to believe that all these struggles are leading nowhere but to the ultimate big bang failure. This feeling of isolation is getting harder to shake off each day, and you are finding it harder to get the support and encouragement you need to keep moving forward.
You are really tired.
One of the most challenging aspects of being on the verge of giving up is the challenge of finding the strength to carry on. Despite the hard work and despite the many attempts to push forward, you feel like you have stepped into quicksand, unable to push forward, feeling stuck and sinking in where you were. It is disheartening, and you are losing your vision and ability to see a way forward.
The state of being on the verge of giving up as a writer is a miserable one. It's a feeling of exhaustion and, to some extent, depression. You have rescued yourself from the cliff's edge many times before, but this time may just be it. Only those who have been there would understand.
You are ready to call it quits.
If that’s you, have the courage to turn back and look behind, you will realise you are not alone. There are many just like you, standing at the edge of the cliff, ready to surrender their dreams. The weight of disappointment and frustration pressing down on everyone is overwhelming. The path ahead seemed treacherous and uncertain, and the allure of giving up became increasingly tempting. But as you turn around, you see countless others, each one wearing a heavy cloak of doubt and weariness.
