A night scene of Singapore city
For those who don’t know, I live on a beautiful island called Singapore. Singapore is a small island nation, so small that you can drive from the east end to the west end in about an hour. Despite its size and lack of resources, Singapore is ranked second in GDP per capita by country in 2022. The country is among the wealthiest in the world. Falling behind Luxembourg, which continues to top the world ranking with $118,001. Almost twice of the United States.
Singapore has come a long way, transforming itself from its humble beginning as a fishing village into today’s modern metropolis within a century. As a citizen of Singapore, I count myself lucky to hold a Singaporean passport which is ranked among the best passport in the world, with visa-less travel to 192 countries. Plus, I am able to visit some of the world's most famous touristic sites regularly.
Today I will be trying out something new and writing an exclusive section for my newsletter, I want to write stories about Singapore to share some of these beautiful places I have come to take for granted so that readers like you can also get a glimpse of what Singapore is like. If you hope to get to know my Singapore through the eyes of a local Singaporean, do not hesitate to subscribe.
Gardens by the Bay
Today, I will share the place I go to for my Sunday morning walks. I am an early riser, usually waking up at five and would be out by six. The place I frequent on Sundays is situated on reclaimed land in the south of Singapore island (See red dot above). It goes by the name Gardens-by-the-Bay because it comprises several gardens surrounding the bay area.
