As I sit on the train, tired and drained from a long day at work, all I can think about is going home to my family. The journey home via public transport is always a challenge, the daily squeeze with other commuters makes it an unappealing experience. But knowing that I am heading home to my family, my wife preparing a sumptuous dinner, and my children coming home from their schools or work makes it a comforting feeling.
Still, the train ride home is a mixed bag. On one hand, I appreciate the chance to brisk walk to the station, unwind while on the train, and catch up on thinking about my next writing inspiration. On the other hand, the train is often packed with other commuters, all trying to make their way home after a hard day's work. It can be difficult to find a seat, and even when I do, the journey is often uncomfortable and cramped.
Despite these challenges, I always look forward to arriving home. The moment I walk through the door, I am greeted with the sounds of my sons clicking away on their computers or the sight of my daughter catching up on her reading in the study and my wife bustling about in the kitchen. It's a homey and familiar feel, one that helps me to forget about the stresses of the day and focus on the present moment.
My wife is a wonderful woman, juggling the demands of the house and the children while still finding time to prepare a delicious dinner. She is always experimenting with new recipes, and our family dinners are a feast for the senses. There's always a variety of dishes, from hearty stews to fresh salads, and everything is made with love and care. I know that I can always count on her to provide a nutritious and satisfying meal, no matter how tired she may be.
Our family dinners are more than just a chance to eat. They are a time to bond and share stories. There will be chatter and laughter surrounding the table, and my children love to talk about their encounters, teasing one another. Me, I enjoy listening in to catch up on the latest gossip of the day. It's a time to connect and reaffirm our bonds with one another.
Dinner comes and goes in a blink, and usually, before the end, we would indulge in some fruits and desserts to sweeten the evening. It's a peaceful and contented feeling, knowing that we have the safety of our home we can count on to be there for us at the end of every day, regardless of how difficult the day may have been.
Of course, activities don't just end with dinner. After the meal, we will each return to our corners to continue our work or other chores. It's a different kind of work, one that we do for ourselves rather than for our employers. But it's no less important, and we enjoy the chance to pursue our passions and interests.
As a parent, the most heartwarming feeling is knowing that you are providing for your children and helping them grow into successful individuals. Witnessing them growing up and being able to be a part of their journey fills me with pride. They are the reason I work hard every day and the reason I look forward to coming home. No matter how challenging my day may be, I know there's no greater feeling than coming home to my family and seeing the smiles on their faces. The warmth and comfort of being surrounded by those you love can truly make you feel complete.
As I sit at my desk, typing away on my computer, I am grateful. To me, happiness is not something that can be bought or achieved through external means but rather something that comes from within. It's about finding contentment in my everyday life and not taking for granted what is happening before me. The ability for me to come home to my wife and children is a constant reminder of the joy and happiness that they bring to my life, and for that, I am truly grateful.
Life is made up of many ordinary days, filled with dull routines and heavy responsibilities that can make us feel burdened and depleted. However, it is entirely up to us to turn these dull beats into incredible moments of joy, meaning, and purpose.
The key to living an ordinary life into an extraordinary legacy is to be fully present in the moment and to find beauty in everyday activities, however mundane. It's about taking the time to notice and appreciate the little things, such as going home for dinner, taking a walk in nature, or enjoying a cup of coffee. These moments may seem small, but they can hold a great deal of significance. It can help us to appreciate the present moment and find beauty in the ordinary.
Ordinary days, extraordinary thoughts. Nothing else.

Wise, wise words.
